Connectivity guide

Wi‑Fi keeps dropping.

Intermittent Wi‑Fi can come from the device, the router, interference, weak signal, software or the internet connection itself.

Before you begin: Stop if you see battery swelling, smoke, liquid inside the device, burning smells, exposed electrical parts or severe physical damage.

Work through these checks in order

1. Compare another device

If several devices drop at the same time, focus on the router, modem or internet service before changing one device.

2. Move closer temporarily

A short test near the router helps separate weak coverage from other causes.

3. Refresh the connection

Turn Wi‑Fi off and back on, reconnect to the network and restart the router only if it is safe to do so.

4. Check software and interference

Install normal system/router updates and consider congestion from nearby networks or electronics.

5. Avoid random network resets first

Full network resets erase saved connections and settings. Use them only after simpler checks and only if you understand what will be removed.

Before an erase, restore or repair decision

Confirm what data is backed up, what a reset or restore will remove, and whether you still need access to account credentials or authentication methods stored on the device.

When professional service makes sense

Hardware damage, repeated power failure, liquid exposure, battery swelling, damaged ports, broken displays and problems that persist after low-risk software checks can require qualified inspection.
